Ko te Rāpare tēnei rā. Today is Thursday.

Ko te aha tēnei marama? What month is it? 

Ko te Hōngongoi  tēnei marama. This month is July.

Kei te pēhea te āhua o te rangi? What's the weather like today?
Kei te whiti te rā. The sun is shining.

He aha te āhua o te rangi? What's the weather like today?
He rangi makariri. It's a cold day.
